It's the most wonderful time of the year! On Yahoo! Shine, our contributors are getting into the holiday spirit by decking the halls, roasting chestnuts, and dreaming of a white Christmas.
And... gearing up for Santa Claus!
It's only a couple of days until Santa makes his way around the world, and Kelly Herdrich’s letter to non-believers asks you not to spoil the magic for her kids. You can keep Santa's spirit alive for your kids with these tricks like leaving a special thank you note for the milk and cookies.
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the food. Fruitcake may have a bad reputation, but you can make this dreaded holiday dessert into something special with Kathy Tyrer's three great fruitcake recipes. Also, don’t spend all day in the kitchen on Christmas: Make your holiday meal less complicated.
Some of us are procrastinators. Don’t have all of your shopping done? Feeling the effects of a holiday shopping hangover? Jaipi Sixbear describes five quick cures for that back pain, stress, and ear ringing.
Not only did that shopping give you some back pain, but it may also be cutting into your holiday decorating budget. If you need budget-friendly decorating ideas, Michelle Radcliff can help. Read her Frugal Decorating Ideas for the Holidays.
There'll be parties for hosting (and marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow), and if you live in a small space, Sophie Walton's tips can get your party started. If you're not the one hosting and you're heading to Grandma's house with little kids in tow, here's how to survive that holiday visit. Don't forget to wear your best Christmas sweater, too!
You won't be able to partake in all of the holiday festivities if you're ill. Keep yourself healthy with Lauren Romano’s tips for staying healthy this season.
And of course, you can’t forget about your pet! I know I will be dressing up my Chihuahua in one of these adorable dresses that Marie Ann St. Jean found! Plus, you might want to check out these gift ideas for your more unusual pets like your sugar glider or chickens.

May all come clear!
Nice! Greetings from Romania!
Hello. Rather than mention this at forum, thought issue might get noticed here.
I have been trying to catch up on reading. I open articles in a new tab, because going back to Category I am scrolling takes way too long to load. I have been unable to comment in new tab; tells me to sign up or log in ~ which I already am. Even after I did try to log on in the new tab, which clearly welcomed me (as in the original tab) it will not let me comment ~ says "sign up or log in".
Logging out for the night. Will try again tomorrow.
Cute way to incorporate them all! :)
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! :-)
Nice combination of articles for the holidays. :)
