L. Gordon Brewer, Jr., M.Ed, LMFT is a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist in private practice in Kingsport, TN. Gordon's private practice provides individual, marriage and family therapy. Gordon is also an ordained minister (vocational deacon) in the Episcopal Church, Diocese of East Tennessee and is assigned to St. Christophers's Episcopal Church in Kingsport, TN. Gordon also serves as the Executive Coordinator for Episcopal Appalachian Ministries (EAM). EAM is a coalition of dioceses that serve the Appalachian region. EAM's mission is to support those doing ministry in Appalachia through a broad program of education, advocacy and mission. It serves as a clearinghouse for those seeking mission opportunities in the region. Gordon is married to Mary "Sister" Brewer and they have one daughter, Rebecca who is in high school. Gordon's interests and call to ministry are addressing issues around global and local poverty. Gordon is very interested in sustainable ways to break the cycle of poverty and help people live more meaningful and compassionate lives.
