I started off my journalism career writing high school football for the St. Petersburg Times. Each story had to contain original quotes and statistics. Tabulating all the game and player stats post-game then submitting on deadline was often a challenge. There were a handful of times where I tried to find the closest wi-fi signal to the stadium (usually a closed coffee shop), write and submit my story from my computer which was propped on the trunk of my car. My focus in journalism is developing stories from original reporting that are factual and contextual while maintaining a strong level of interest.
