I am an addiction medicine specialist certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine since 2004; Years of work with the seriously drug-addicted patients that included the drug-addiction clinics, methadone maintenance clinics and detox/rehab departments convinced me beyond all doubt that it is a great scientific fallacy to classify Cannabis in the same category as heroin and cocaine (or alcohol, for that matter). To deny the remarkable medicinal properties of the cannabis plant is the same as to say that the earth is flat, and would not, therefore be a "rational" statement. I believe very strongly that we must reject fear-tactics by the DEA and its prohibitionist allies and legalize at least the Medicinal Cannabis ASAP!
