Barbara Finney
I am a writer, but also an actress, genealogist, horsewoman and researcher into many topics of a historical as well as a paranormal nature. My original education background was in science. I was pre-med in college and did work for many years as a respiratory therapist in major hospitals in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area. I did a lot of work in emergency rooms as well as intensive care so I know my way very well around a professional medical environment. That said, I will say that my experiences in conventional medicine at the highest level are what in part drove me to totally embrace alternative medicine for most things and that has been reinforced in the last 3 years or so by having lost a lot of my family to medical and drug blunders.
I always loved horses and became a professional horse trainer and rode in many horse shows also in the Houston, Texas area. I wrote a few articles in the past for Horse of Course magazine. In fact one of my first magazine articles was for Horse of Course, and that got me well bitten by the freelance writing bug. For many years wrote a paranormal oriented column titled STRANGER THAN FICTION, for the Lynchburg Ledger Newspaper. I am also a past member of The National Society of Newspaper Columnists. I am a member of Press Media Group and a stockholder of same.
I studied Journalism at The University of Houston.
I have also enjoyed acting on stage and in films at a semi-professional level. Some of my writing and stage and film material may be seen on my fan page on facebook.
Because my family was prone to a lot of odd experiences as I was growing up, also became very involved in studying psychic phenomena, UFO's and things that go bump in the night. In recent years my interests have turned to genealogy, and I have learned things about my family history that may "explain a lot."
My interest vary widely but I am very much an expert on the above things I have mentioned, that in summary being the paranormal, science, med

Leprechaun Fantasy Darby O'Gill and the Little People is One of My FavoritesThere have been many movies about magic and magical beings like leprechauns, but Darby O' Gill tops my list of the best of the lot. It is also thought to be the film that launched Sean Connery into his famous 'James Bond Movie' roles.
