Luke Bunger
Luke is a Featured Columnist for the Arizona Cardinals on Bleacher Reporter, and Arizona Cardinals writer for Sports Haze Phoenix - follow him at www.sportshaze.com/phoenix
He was born and raised in the Walsall, in the UK, before spending three years touring the world working as a Christian missionary with a touring theatre company.
In 2003-2004 while traveling in Canada, Luke missed "The Invincibles" 49 game unbeaten streak, and, feeling that he had missed his teams greatest ever achievement, defected to NHL Hockey and Gridiron Football, first the CFL, followed shortly after by the NFL.
Based at the time just a few hundred yards from 17th Ave, Calgary, Luke was regularly found celebrating on the Red Mile during the Flames 2004 Stanley Cup run, and was there, celebrating a good run, the night the Flames lost to Tampa Bay, along with 50,000 of his closest friends.
He is a recent convert to Gridiron Football, and has followed the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL since 2002, and Arizona Cardinals loyally since early 2003.
The Cardinals, and the NFL in general now takes up more of his time than is probably healthy for someone living more than 5000 miles away from his team.
Luke began writing about the Arizona Cardinals in early 2009, as a way to discuss his passion with, and remaining connected to, other football fans, who are few and far between in England, and began writing regularly during the 2010 season.
When not writing about sport, Luke owns and runs a Christian bookshop with his family, in his hometown of Walsall. He is a devoted husband and new father. He volunteers regularly, working amongst disadvantaged young people in the area.
In his spare time, he enjoys photography, video editing, and graphic design. He spends too much time playing games, especially Madden. He is a card carrying member of the Cult of Mac.
