As a former English teacher and past owner of a word processing and resume service, I have over twenty years' experience in writing, formatting, and editing a variety of documents.
As a Justice of the Peace for six terms, politics -- both local and national
-- is of great interest to me. In my capacity as JP, I lobbied several U.S. Senators in Washington, D.C. concerning forest lands. I am particularly concerned with the state of American education and am a proponent of phonics over whole language. I homeschooled our youngest son for twelve years.
I am an avid researcher, previously serving as a researcher for a state senator.
Because I am confined to a wheelchair due to Multiple Sclerosis, I have firsthand knowledge of what it is to be disabled.
However, my disability has not deterred me from enjoying my four children and ten grandchildren. My husband of forty-four years and I live in the Arkansas River Valley thirty minutes east of the Oklahoma border.
