Robert Allen

Born and raised in Southwestern Michigan I was introduced at an early age to the wonders of nature by my parents through hunting, fishing and camping trips that my family took several times a year. After graduating High School and working several different jobs trying to find my niche in life, I found myself settled into working at a local factory. I am grateful for that job and the ability it gave me to provide for my family and I, but today after 26 years and an unexpected plant closure, I find myself with a second chance to pursue what i truly love and that's being in the great outdoors and doing whatever i can to help protect Mother Nature. I have even started a website, (Beingagreendad.com) to promote green living, the environment and being responsible consumers. I am currently attending a local college and am working towards and associates degree in environmental science. Gardening and cooking is also another love of mine that i take pride in and I have put together some very tasty meals In my day and feel compelled to share some of my favorite recipes with all of you.
