I am a recent college graduate from a small college from Lakeland Florida called Florida Southern College. I have recently received my Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in writing as well as a minor in Philosophy. I recently returned from the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan a bit early due to personal issues, and am currently trying my hand as a freelance writer.
My passions include creative writing, reading and baseball. I received the Ryals Award in 2009 for a piece of poetry and prose I had published in my school's creative writing journal Cantilevers. I also had a poem published on the literary website www.xenith.net titled Red Herring. This summer I will be attending the Colgate Writers' Conference at Colgate University in Hampton, New York. I plan on going to graduate school in the fall of 2012 to work on my MFA in poetry.
