a system Failed child I was raised in foster care and bumped around from home to home until I'd had enough at age 11. I discovered the stability of the inner city streets, and the comfort of knowing everywhere was home from the train-yard to under overpass' to public parks and back alley's. I learned fast that to survive you had to be quick and humble. Drugs quickly became part of the daily routine in my youth. I was addicted to heroin by the age of 12 and had also experimented with every possible substance I could get my hands on. Once while scouring the back alley's of Vancouver's Hastings st. at 15yrs old, I came across a dead body in a dumpster. It was very traumatising. I have traveled Canada 3 times over each time was a new adventure I have met so many interesting people From truck drivers married to more than one Family to weirdo's who want to sleep with children (me at the time!) to urban Christan rap groups. In my short time on this earth I have overcome so much and lived a great deal beyond my years. I have acquired a passion for poetry and story telling to convey the harsh truths and subtle beauty I see in every being on this earth. I have been drug free since I was 17! And have given life to two beautiful children one of which has asperger's syndrome, ADD and the most unique way of looking at the world I have ever seen! As a mother I feel a need to share what I have learned about the seedy underbelly of society the forgotten children and families of the developed world and a drug trade that sucks the life from our society & youth.
