After spending 10+ years in the healthcare field as a nurse, I have elected to stay home with my children. I have seen and experienced so many things during my time as a nurse and what better place to put my experience to work than in writing. Not only does it allow me to earn extra money, but it still gives me an outlet to express myself. Writing has always been a passion of mine, so now I truely have the best of both worlds. Along with my healthcare experience and being the mom of a daughter 13 and a son 11, I am an avid animal lover and an active volunteer with our local animal shelter. Most of that time is spent at adoption drives, trying to place our cats and dogs in loving homes, something that many of them have never had a chance to know. With this process, much time is spent rehabilitating these animals and building a trust with them that they have lost over time due to neglect and abuse. There is nothing more rewarding than to see a pet who has come in with both emotional and physical scars completely turn around and be placed with a family who many times are desiring the love and affection of a pet just as much as that pet needs the same from them. It is one of the most rewarding experiences to be a part of.
