Barbara kasey Smith

Barbara Kasey Smith was raised in a small coal-camp in West Virginia. When she was old enough to be aware of the hard life of a coal miner s daughter, she began realizing many things in life is not fair for some people, mostly the poor. Most West Virginians were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths, they had to work hard and long for everything they got and money did not come easy for them but they were respectable, hard-working, kind-hearted, and family oriented people.

Barbara graduated from high school in West Virginia, went to Beckley College for a stint before going to work for the federal government where she was employed for 32 years. She loved her different job positions in the government and enjoyed putting forth her efforts to deliver the best possible to her customers. She specialized in several different fields while employed there and retired with a feeling that she did accomplish many goals while she worked there. On-the-job experiences is an education in itself and it does enhance a person s ability to move forward in different job positions.

Barbara has enjoyed travels overseas and within the U.S. as well as doing other things she s longed to do but never had the time to do. She and her husband continues to travel to many areas because they have a lot of the same likes and dislikes.

Barbara has an interest in many things, i.e., flower arranging, fishing, crafts, games, hiking, traveling, the beach, loving all her family, writing books, poetry, and articles. Barbara s had three books published and she has been recognized in several poetry books, poetry magazines, and other Internet Sites for her writings. She also has received Editor Choice Awards for her poety.

Barbara s days are now spent traveling with her husband, writing, and enjoying her pet Miss Daisy. Barbara believes life continues to bring many interests my way and I enjoy a challenge in anything that I do.
