Catharine Beale
I grew up on Long Island. My biggest skeleton: I was a beauty queen, and briefly a model, before deciding I hated the attention and the whole shallow, prurient world. (This is probably my darkest secret.) Writing comes easy to me. I raised my daughter alone and have never married (believe me that's not easy). She goes to Smith College now - a perfect match. Although I majored in biochemistry as an undergraduate, I've worked on Wall Street for 25 years. My octogenerian father turns nonagenerian in 2013. Mom passed away from lung cancer in her 60s. I love to cook and eat. Own and just starting to breed Papillons (no champions yet but I'm working on it). Own and breed Gouldian Finches and Canaries. Loved the Monkees and Whitney Houston, Anne Akiko Meyers and Vladimir Horowitz. Left wing bleeding heart liberal. Am contemplating return to school for a Master's in something scientific - but only if Columbia U will take me back. I have a fiance from Egypt, a Coptic Christian who practiced medicine; in all likelihood, he can never go home. Should we marry, I want to honeymoon in Alexandria. He says no. We'll see. Your advice welcome.
