Valerie Lakey
My name is Val Lakey. I am a wife and a mother of two, our son is in college, our daughter is in high school. We are cattle and hay ranchers in northeastern California. We have owned a small grocery store and deli. I am a reporter for the local newspaper and do freelance writing. I have served with many community organizations including chamber, school site council, cattlewomen, education foundation and and am currently in my second term as a Board of Trustee for the school district. I coordinate a peer mentoring program at the high school and coach volleyball. I enjoy our small town and rural lifestyle. I am blessed to live in a community where I can appreciate the simple things in life.
