Mike Simmons

Born Dec 5, 1958 in Bridgeport, Tx., 6th of 7 children to Pete W.(2/27/1910-2/15/1985) and Zelma Mae Howard Simmons (4/15/1919-10/6/2006).
Graduated Boyd, Tx High School class of 1977. Served in the U.S. Air Force from 1977 to 1982 as a crew chief (aircraft mechanic).
Following USAF service, was firefighter/EMT with Boyd , Tx Fire Dep't rising to Assistant Chief, and served with Wise County EMS as an EMT for several years.
Over the years, I've also worked as a truck driver, comissioned security officer, heavy equipment operator, and restaurant manager.
That range of experiences lends itself to certain viewpoints, and my viewpoints are very definitely due to experience. Experience is not something you get sitting in a classroom, and I have sat in my share of classrooms.

Then, of course, there are the dogs: Matilda & Peanut, and the cats: BB, Ghost & Bubbles.

Side Note: Doesn't mean a damn thing, but I am a descendant of James Wright Simmons, a newspaper publisher, author and Storekeeper/Comptroller of the Republic of Texas Navy under President Sam Houston. His brother, Clelland (or Cleveland) Kinloch Simmons was a Cavalry Lt killed in action at the Alamo.
