Lauren Barbato
Lauren Barbato was born and raised in New Jersey, her roots lying somewhere between the shady streets of The Sopranos and the wooden planks of Boardwalk Empire. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where she earned a BFA degree in Writing for Screen and Television. During her time at USC, Lauren worked extensively at the Daily Trojan, where she served as Lifestyle Editor for three semesters. Her work at the Daily Trojan earned her a 2010 California College Media Association Award for Best Arts and Entertainment Feature for her story on the cultural relevance (or lack thereof) of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. She has worked at various arts and entertainment publications, including MovieMaker Magazine, FILTER Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Campus Circle, and Under the Radar, where she blogs daily. She also writes features and profiles for various Patch.com sites. When she's not writing, Lauren enjoys shooting 35mm film on her Minolta SRT-102.
