Don Yarber
Born in 1936, I spent my childhood days in and around Harrisburg, IL, living on farms where my father sharecropped or living in town when he worked in the coal mines. I developed an interest in writing at an early age and by the time I enlisted in the U.S. Navy I knew that I wanted to be a writer. I published short stories in my ship's newspaper, wrote articles for company and union papers, made up my own "sports" paper, and wrote for a local weekly newspaper. I published my first book in 1998, the second in 2008 and the third will be out next month. (June 2011). Two more books are in the making, one nearly complete and one with 6 chapters completed. Won the Hawthorne (CA) Press Advertiser award (2nd place) in 1959 for best feature.

Ode to a Wild RoseThis poem is about an item. The item I chose to write about is a rose. Not just any rose, but a beautiful wild rose. The wild rose is an object lesson in life. -
Super Intelligence Agencies We Don't NeedAmerica has many agencies that are involved with intelligence gathering. Most have budgets that are huge and growing yearly. Some report to others, some report to no-one. Can we afford to keep these "Super Spies" on the government payroll forever?
