Katie Brower
My name is Katie Brower. I was born in California and moved to Utah when I was very young. I grew up in Highland, Utah, a small town that borders American Fork, Utah. (Half way between Provo and Salt Lake) I gained a love of reading in second grade and still enjoy it today. I attended an Accelerated Learning Lab in 5th and 6th grade that allowed me to skip Pre-algebra and go straight to Algebra in 7th grade. I also attended the Gifted and Talented Program in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. In 9th grade I was in a program my school called "biology block." In the process of finishing up my associates degree I got my EMT license and once again affirmed to myself that I want to be a doctor. I started attending Brigham Young University (a private university operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which I am happily a member) the fall after I graduated from high school, where I started my pre-med classes and worked on the grounds crew. And, I also tested for my 2nd Dan black belt th
