Born in Charleston, SC 65+ years ago. I spent 1st 7 years on a farm in North Dakota before my parents moved to my mother s home in Camden, SC. I grew up went to school and, eventually was conscripted into the US Army in time for the Viet Nam debacle. After my discharge (honorable and as a sergeant) I returned to school at the University of South Carolina where I ALMOST graduated. In the intervening years from then until now my life has been varied and....interesting. I am retired and disabled (arthritis in my knees from sports) but still manage an active life. My wife of 25 years, Penny, and I live on the footprints of Gen. Francis Marion, the ol Swamp Fox himself. I speak enough German to get in trouble and relatively fluent Spanish. I want to do this to keep my mind active and contribute my ideas and opinions in a larger forum than is currently available to me.
