I have an extensive background in sales and marketing, but recently have been using my creative skills writing about one of my personal passions, cooking and food. I write a bi-weekly cooking and recipe column for my local paper. I live in a small rural southern town and I don't have ready access to all the gourmet ingredients I would like, so many of my recipes are adaptations. I also like the science of cooking, a la Alton Brown, and I like to explain why you use certain techniques to achieve the best results.
I also write feature articles on a freelance basis for our statewide paper.
