Laura Hofmann is a Career Counselor with LH Careers and holds a Masters of Education in Counseling & Guidance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology was conferred by University of California, Berkeley. Her career in education and guidance spans over 10 years including adult and youth employment services at: UC Berkeley, Ohlone Community College, City of Santa Maria, CA, and Federal Workforce Investment Act program (WIA), in conjunction with Regional Workforce Development boards. She has successfully worked with clients of all ages, educational levels, and industries; conducting hundreds of individual and group based sessions and workshops both public and private. Laura employs an eclectic assortment of solution-based, cognitive-behavioral, Socratic, experiential, and client-centered counseling methods. She borrows from classical and mainstream counseling techniques as well as more alternative approaches that incorporate concepts such as mindfulness and intuition. Her work is grounded in strengths-based positive psychology. She is constantly updating her skills by attending professional development events and staying current with the latest news and research concerning labor market, economic trends, technology and developments in the counseling profession.
