Christine Manhart
I've been a geologist, cheesecake baker, weaver, and most recently, a certified massage therapist. Occasionally all at the same time.
I began my working life as a consulting geologist. During this stage I primarily investigated and planned the cleanup for properties with contaminated soil and groundwater. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to present papers based on my work at several professional conferences both at home and internationally.
One of my duties while working in this field was to hold and/or attend public meetings where the goal was to explain planned environmental projects to concerned stakeholders. These stakeholders usually included property owners and occupants near the property in question, local and state regulators and local media.
During the next stage of my life I owned a small business where I made and distributed custom cheesecakes. I developed my own recipes and serviced both retail and wholesale clients. Before I closed the business when my family decided to move, I had gained local grocery chains and restaurants with exclusive flavored cakes.
During my third and current stage of life I've become a certified massage therapist. This new profession has allowed me to pursue knowledge into holistic healthcare practices and alternative treatments for various ailments and injuries. My background allows me to research current theories, evaluate the data and provide my clients with up to date information.
