I am a freelance writer. I live on top of a mountain in Southeastern Arizona with my husband and five dogs. I spent years working within the equine industry, starting at local barns before moving on to big national barns and even a brief stay starting colts at Churchill Downs. I started my own dressage barn in 1995 and ran it until I worked my way up to hospital director at a veterinary hospital, when I had to choose one or the other. I chose veterinary medicine.

Now, I mountain bike, trail run and compete in triathlons. I own five dogs, and have decided to start a new life as a freelance writer. My husband and I have traveled throughout the desert southwest to events, and have had a lot of fun along the way. I am still very active in the veterinary community.
