Andrew Johnson
Having spent his entire life in a small town, Andrew provides a unique perspective on many topics and a larger knowledge of specific areas of small town life. At 18 he is just beginning his writing career and has already been published by the popular hockey news website, The Hockey Writers. Andrew didn't get to this point in life easily though, growing up with a tumultuous-at-best family life, primarily caused by the alcohol addiction of his now estranged father. Despite facing problems at home, Andrew managed to do well in elementary and middle school. This was highlighted by winning 2 geography bees and finally by being the valedictorian of his 8th grade graduating class. High school didn't hold a very friendly welcome for him though, and after struggling with severe anxiety disorders and frequent panic attacks, he was forced to drop out and begin teaching himself from home. Still in the middle of this process and still daily struggling with anxiety related problems, he understands the world from an angle that many don't. With the adversity he's faced in just a short 18 years, Andrew knows a lot about things that others may never face and can offer insight into subjects with a far better understanding than
many others. Andrew also spent 4 years playing inline hockey as a child and has grown up around hockey his entire life. Being from Michigan, he's a devoted Red Wings fan and someone with a vast knowledge of the game. Andrew's passion for writing is strong, and his knowledge, abilities, and fervor grow every day.
