Paris Saint Germain Vs. Montpellier: Coupe De France Feminine: May 1st 2012Soyer tried her best to stir PSG’s offense but Bussaglia’s free kick’s were poor all game. Asseyi could have scored 1 and so could have Delie for Montpellier but both PSG and Montpellier’s midfield control was lacking, a deep ball game.

Manchester City Vs. Manchester United: English Premier League: April 30th 2012Scholes, Giggs, Park, and Rio were not in form to face ManC. ManC entire backline: Zabaleta, Clichy, Lescott, and Kompany did wonders in the backline. Nasri, Silva, and Yaya Toure dominated the midfield. ManU are not of the same quality.

DC United Week 9: DCU Beat Houston with a Midweek Game Change in Their BacklineDudar left with a hamstring and the backline lost its comprehension which cost DCU two goals. But, the offensively quality and mindset of DCU overcame the deficits to win it. The whole team played hungrily.

FFC Turbine Potsdam Vs. Olympique Lyonnais Feminine: UEFA Women’s Champions League: Leg 2Cruz was good this game picking up the slower pace of OL, Thomis did well all game but got red carded and will miss the final now. Kerschowski was excellent again, like in the first leg and had more help from Hanebeck. OL go through to the final.

FC Barcelona Vs. Chelsea: UEFA Champions League: April 24th 2012Chelsea beat Barca twice in one week which hasn’t happened since 1999 and delivers them their first 3 games without a win since 2003. Cech, Cole, Lampard, were a wall. Drogba Ramires Kalou and Torres defended the wings.

DC United Week 8: Redbulls Were Never Allowed the Chance to Make a Team Goal All GameHenry scored on a free kick. But, Redbulls couldn’t do anything as a team and were stymied by McDonald and Russell. Deleon and Cruz burned them on the wings. Pontius, DeRo, and Santos possessed and struck up top.

Arsenal Vs. Chelsea: English Premier League: April 21st 2012Romeu, Essien, Sturridge, Bertrand, Bosingwa, and Malouda get their first starts for a while. Arsenal didn’t have Arteta and it showed. Without a midfield player they are too slow.

Chelsea Vs. Benfica: UEFA Champions League: April 4Benfica were unpreserved and Aimar governed the midfield, though he was terrible at free kicks. Garcia tried his best but being down 10 was too much. Terry was excellent and without him Chelsea’s defense was poor.

FC Barcelona Vs. AC Milan: UEFA Champions League: April 3rd 2012Milan had opportunities but Pique and Puyol’s defending was vital. Milan’s movement wasn’t as crisp as it needed to be in the midfield. Milan stifled Messi, but the referee’s decisions, while are technically correct were all favorable. Barca persevered.

DC United Week 4Santos held up play, Cruz penetrated and pushed on one side, Deleon on the other, McDonald and Dudar made a mistake each but both intercepted FC Dallas most of the match. DeRo was excellent controlling DCU flow.

Catania Vs. AC Milan: Serie A: March 31Marchese’s playing, box to box, and Gomez’s runs and passing up top continually pressed Milan. Ibra, Robinho, Antonini, Ambrosini at times showed higher class, but couldn’t retain it to win. Ref Bergonzi was poor.

Chelsea Vs. Aston Villa: English Premier League: March 31Torres was excellent moving up top this game. Mata and Sturridge were lovely supporting him. But, Chelsea for most of the game was unchallenged on the ball. Lichaj was excellent but Chelsea’s quality recovered well.

AC Milan Vs. Barcelona: UEFA Champions League: March 28Nesta is always needed; the backline of Milan looked as sharp as the backline of Inter two years ago. Antonini, Mesbah, Mexes, Bonera, and Abbiati were excellent in the game. Iniesta, Xavi, and Dani Alves were not fast or creative enough around Messi.

Benfica Vs. Chelsea: UEFA Champions League: March 27Ramires was excellent all game with his speed and dribbling skills, which started the goal by Kalou through Torres. Aimar didn’t have any support to push the game quick enough through the midfield congested by Mikel and Miereles.

Man City was sloppy and lethargic, but Tevez was a great sub leading to ManC's victory

Liverpool Vs. Arsenal: English Premier League: March 3Liverpool defensively stopped Arsenal from the midfield, and had good vision going forward, but couldn’t put the open chances in the back of the net. RVP and Szczesny saved Arsenal on both ends of the pitch individually.

AC Milan Vs. Juventus: Serie A: Feb 25Milan’s midfield guided by Van Bommel and Robinho leading the offensive line, Mexes, Thiago Silva and Abate, showed great experience. Juve’s midfield was guided by Pirlo. Chiellini provided undying impetus from the back. This was a classic.

Chelsea Vs. Bolton Wanderers: English Premier League: Feb. 25Healthy and mature stars playing alongside healthy and young stars create a structure on the pitch for Chelsea. Bolton is 19th in the table and regardless of their technical skill, their defeated attitude is telling.

Chelsea Vs. Napoli : UEFA CL: Feb 21Chelsea showed once again, why they need Drogba. The defensive complexities of Chelsea cost them the game against excellently counterattacking Napoli. The Neapolitans were led by Lavezzi who understands the need for the club to advance to the next round.

Cesena Vs. AC Milan: Serie A: Feb. 19Muntari’s passing and movement was the centerpiece of a lovely first half Milan, whom Cesena had no answer for. Cesena had early second half opportunities but their lack of quality showed.

Juventus Vs. Catania: Serie A: Feb. 18Juventus built around Pirlo keeping up their fitness throughout the match showed great passing and positional and defensive reading capabilities that Catania of a similar mold couldn’t compete with, but never lost their determination even a man down.

Chelsea Vs. Birmingham City: FA Cup: Feb 18th 2012Chelsea used this match as a preparation for Napoli and while Birmingham City fought hard, especially their forwards, the next leg if Drogba starts will mean doom for Birmingham City with the positive attitude Drogba brings Chelsea.

AC Milan Vs. Arsenal: UEFA Champions League: Feb. 15The passing, defensive reading, midfield coordination of Milan was a large class over Arsenal, who never in the game looked ready for the Champions League. Henry is heading back to NY; I think he will be happy to.

Udinese Vs. AC Milan: Serie A: Feb 11th 2012Udinese showed great grit and counterattacking quality with the deadly Di Natale, but in the second half, Milan changed how they play and the presence of Lopez with the quality of Emanuelson and the Pharaoh El Shaarawy took over.

Everton Vs. Chelsea: English Premier League: Feb. 11Chelsea played too slowly and was denied chances for 90 minutes, and didn’t ever seem to be enthused to overcome the collective team pressure of Everton. Stracqualursi did a Drogba job on Chelsea.

Manchester United Vs. Liverpool: English Premier League: Feb. 11Liverpool was prepared and engaged in the beginning, but the early second half goals by MAnU changed Liverpool’s attitude completely. Adam, Carroll, and Bellamy came in and gave Liverpool’s, energy and quality, strength. But it was too late.

Internacional Vs. Juan Aurich : Copa Libertadores : Feb. 9, 2012Internacional played slow and labored at times, only spurts of the quality they can show, but they were never pressured and made Aurich pay. Aurich had no midfield and Zuniga nor was Caicedo strong enough to outmuscle Kleber.

Olympique Marseille Vs. Olympique Lyon : Ligue 1 : Feb 5th 2012Marseille scored twice but as the Choc des Olympiques have been dramatic with last years 5 all draw, Lyon scored twice themselves. Om was playing without the Ayews and Valbuena. Lyon needs Gourcuff to wake up.

Chelsea Vs. Manchester United : English Premier League : Feb 5th 2012Chelsea started the game shaky but the team started coming together and scored three times, in the Torres era. Then the twelfth player of ManU Howard Webb gave 2 PK’s to ManU. Chicarito tied it and Torres didn’t finish it.

Manchester City Vs. Fulham : English Premier League : Feb. 04th 2012ManC showed why it is good having physically top players all around the pitch. Fulham never once controlled the midfield and were continually sideswiped by defensive stops of Micah Richards.

Milan Vs. Cagliari Jan 29th 2012Ibra did talismanic work for Milan who started the game slowly but the quality of their elders was too much for Cagliari who needs a lot of work in midfield and defense. Ibarbo and Pinilla are good players but they need help in midfield.

Lecce Vs. Inter Jan 29th 2012Inter showed a lack of respect for Lecce which caused a goal against them by Giacomazzi, but the determination of Benassi defined the game.

Juventus Vs. Udinese Jan 28th 2012Juventus ended the game fatigued but the quality of passing throughout the game was quality. Udinese had opportunities on counterattack but never pressed hard enough for long enough to trouble Juventus.

Atalanta Vs Juventus Jan 21st 2012Juventus never stopped pressuring Atalanta and a few moments of excellent class led by the great Pirlo demanded The Grand Old Lady got three points. Atalanta has to ride out their match fixing penalty and stay tough to stay in.
