I'm a presently unemployed veteran of the international freight transportation industry and prospective freelance writer. I've always had a knack for creative and effective use of language, and hope I can eventually make a living from it now that the precariousness of even salaried corporate work has made itself evident. My interests and knowledge range from world history to science fiction to sports. Beyond my academic and creative writing experience, I worked as a newspaper reporter covering local government in Contra Costa County, California. I spend my (presently too ample) spare time reading, playing games on my PC, and perusing the endless bounty of the internet among other pursuits. Although I'm an Illinois native, I'm now gladly living in the vicinity of Boulder, Colorado, with my brother, his fiancee, and their small menagerie of pets.
