Robyn L. Adams
Robyn Adams grew up in Taos, New Mexico in the 1960s and 70s. Raised by a very persuasive mother, and being exposed to a constant parade of colorful and controversial characters, Robyn learned the qualities of strength, justice, fairness and fighting for what you believe in. These qualities and her life experiences are often the thrust behind her writing.
Robyn married, had two sons and divorced fifteen years later. During this time she came to terms with a secret past which included sexual molest and mental and physical abuse as a child. She attended a number of self-help groups and meditation in an attempt to resolve the disquietude inside. Championing causes for justice, fairness and overcoming diversity are continued therapy for her.
At age forty, Robyn decided to stop talking about learning to play the bagpipes and learned to play them. She played with the San Diego Cameron Highlanders for four years and then 9/11 happened. Having been strongly influenced by music, she co-wrote We Will Remember You, a stirring tribute to the fallen first responders, which includes Auld Lang Syne and Amazing Grace, played on the pipes by Robyn. She went on to give away hundred of copies of the song to first responders and their families as well as perform the song a numerous venues over the last ten years. She did not play the pipes again after that.
Her career path has led her from being the office manager for a doctor, a video production company and an architect. Recently she was the program coordinator for a virtual design construction school where she was instrumental in building the school and increasing enrollments dramatically. She continues to act as the Virtual Coordinator for that same school.
Robyn has remarried and spends most of her time writing songs, short stories, articles and renovating her home.
