Lovella Grey
I moved to Virginia almost 7 years ago, but Oklahoma is my birthplace and where my heart is. Most of my family is there, whether they are dead or alive. I think that when I left Oklahoma, a part of me stayed behind.
I grew up in a loving home with my grandmother and my mother. I am the eldest of 1 brother and 3 sisters. My childhood was average---some good times and bad times. There are memories of my father, who died when I was 8, that I cherish. There are other memories that I'd much sooner forget.
I was always an avid reader, who loved to live vicariously through the "Babysitter Club" stories or the "Sweet Valley Twins." I first put pen to paper around the age of 11 as a way to calm my nerves. I found writing to be as great of an escape as opening a book.
Now I have a family of my own---a husband, a daughter (7) and a son (5). Whenever I have spare time, you'll usually find me reading or writing.
