Thomas Hunt

Tom is coauthor of "Deep Water: Joseph P. Macheca and the Birth of the American Mafia," silver medalist in the 2008 Independent Publisher Book Awards. He contributed an American Mafia history to "Mafia: The Necessary Reference to Organized Crime" and is coauthoring a book on the western New York organized crime family. He publishes the quarterly journal, Informer: The History of American Crime and Law Enforcement, and websites related to organized crime: the American Mafia history website; CagedWolves: History of the Morello Mob; and the MobNews current events blog. In addition, he moderates a Yahoo discussion group on Mafia topics. He served as longtime editor of organized crime and crime publications categories for the Open Directory (dmoz.org). He has written and co-written articles for the On the Spot Journal.
