Ana Figueroa

Ana Figueroa is an award-winning features writer, editor and blogger based in Los Angeles. A former staff reporter for Newsweek Magazine and freelance reporter for The New York Daily News and People Magazine, she is a long-time contributing editor for the AARP’s bilingual publication, AARP Viva. Ms. Figueroa is a former cruise editor and senior editor of TravelAge West, the prominent travel trade publication serving travel agents in the western United States. In addition to her editing and reporting, Ms. Figueroa’s travel and lifestyle features have appeared in a wide array of print and online publications, including AOL-branded websites, MSNBC.com, AARP the Magazine, AARP Bulletin, the Boston Globe, Orange Coast Magazine, San Diego Metropolitan Magazine, cruisecritic.com, Porthole Cruise Magazine, Travel Weekly, TavelMarketReport.com and various Automobile Club publications. She is co-author of Avalon Travel Publishing’s Moon Metro Las Vegas guidebook and a founding cruise editor of Travelgirl Magazine.
Prior to entering into the journalism arena, Ms. Figueroa was a business litigator with the largest law firm in California and served as staff counsel for the Orange County Superior Court. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from Loyola Marymount University and a law degree from Stanford University. She served as a field producer for CourtTV during its coverage of the O.J. Simpson civil trial.
Ms. Figueroa has made television and radio appearances on the “Today Show,” “The O’Reilly Factor,” “Politically Correct with Bill Maher,” “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren,” “CNN Headline News” and NPR.
