Melanie Lindsey~-Kimmel

A humorous straight talker, Melanie offers her opinions in an enthusiastic no-nonsense manner. The proverbial "Jane" of many trades, this former design student admits to having a plethora of eclectic knowledge filed away in her experiences. "I like learning things, she says earnestly, If I come across a topic I don't know about, I can spend weeks researching it. I might never need the information, but I still "need" to know." A brave adventurer, the Ohio native has traveled the United States extensively, even living in a small town in Alaska for several years. "I loved living in Alaska, Melanie enthuses, It was like stepping back in time 50 years, but I got to have my cell phone and internet!" When asked about her future travel plans she simply smiles and replies, "There really is no place I wouldn't like to see, but I do have a top five list. I am currently saving for a tour of castles in Scotland. Future travel plans might have to wait for a while though, this energetic 40 something was recently diagnosed with an auto-immune illness that has forced her switch gears to focus on her diet and health for a time. "It's a very scary thing, to suddenly realize your own mortality but, it's also a very defining moment, it helps you get your priorities in order" When asked why she decided to pursue blogging as a means of income she replied without hesitation, "I adore words, and writing. I love to travel and would hate being stuck in one place. Writing and sharing my ideas with others, and getting paid for it, would be a perfect way to supplement my income, allow me to travel, and give me an outlet for my need to research and learn new things!"
