-Manages the EHS program at Stryker Instruments
Senior Safety Representative/Safety Officer 2005-2010:
-Plans, coordinates and executes the safety program from within the facilities department while working with HR, chemical procurement, training, and product development engineers to maintain substantial regulatory compliance with the fire codes, Portage and Kalamazoo city government, MDNRE, MIOSHA, corporate standards, and the FDA.
-Writes all technical quality system documentation for facilities/safety including PM’s, programs, and contracts.
-Develops learning tools and curriculums (Articulate) with Kaplan LMS for respirators, cranes/hoists, PPE, LOTO, fork trucks, welding, MSDS’s and designed a new position to more effectively manage safety titled “Safety Technician”.
-Works with upper mgt to increase safety awareness, presents training for new hire orientation, launched the “green” team regarding sustainability practices, registered for LEED, developed charters for EHS, and networks/benchmarks with area hospitals, universities, and businesses regarding current trends in facilities/EHS/environmental mgt practices.
-Leader of emergency response team of 50+ volunteers, schedules and develops team off-site events, networks with corporate and sister divisions regarding EHS/facilities, initiates action plans, and web mgt of docs through SharePoint.
Senior Facilities Coordinator/Safety Officer 2005-present:
-Manage $4M of expenses at 5 different sites, supervise 150 outside contractors from all trades, and routinely advised managers and employees of the safety risks for 650sf of manufacturing space (1,500 employees) on a daily basis.
-Cost savings of 250K, capital project mgt up to $400K, accident investigations with HR, contract mgt of electrical, roofing, pest control, janitorial, hazardous waste, mechanical and utilities including insurance interaction (FM Global).
