JK Simonson
Most simply put, I am a jack of all trades, ace of none.
I am a proud Navy wife and actively support my community as well as volunteering for the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. I’m “common sense” parent of two great kids and have been homeschooling them for more than 7 years. I am also a daughter, sister, friend, wanna-be computer nerd, blogger, life coach, writer, health nut, teacher, first aid responder and CPR certified (I could keep going but that would start to bore those who will read this bio).
I’m the one people call for advice. I’m honest (almost to a fault) and always see the positive side of life without sticking my head in the sand. I’m not afraid to respectfully ask hard questions; helping someone think for themselves, get a different perspective or just as a great conversation starter.
Patience and organization are a must in my life and help keep me sane when my husband is deployed or during life’s challenges (like moving for the third time in five years). Hard work with fun and rewarding down time are both highly important to me.
I love learning and read incessantly. Even though I didn’t finish college, I’ve always continued to learn and grow; a self-educated know-it-all and extremely curious. I am exceedingly diverse in my tastes and my portfolio will reflect such (astrology to Zen gardening, fine arts to the NFL, alpha to omega and everything in between, except politics). I avoid sensationalism in the news and rely solely on Nation Public Radio for the local, national and world news.
But at the end of the day, I’m just Jess; a passionate human being with a big heart and an ever expanding consciousness.
