Cheryl Rettig
Cheryl Rettig is a freelance writer with wintranslation, a professional translation services provider located in Canada. She has written numerous articles and free White Papers for wintranslation examining current translation and localization issues facing business owners today. Cheryl has also traveled extensively, completing several human rights internships and assisting with various projects in Ghana, India, Israel and Palestine, Haiti, Mexico, and Washington, DC. She has also visited Egypt, Jordan, and Cambodia. Cheryl holds a Master’s degree in Political Science with a focus on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Canadian public policy, politics of the developing world, Canadian foreign policy, and international human rights law. Her Master's thesis examined the causes and consequences of the use of sexual violence as a strategy of war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Cheryl currently writes “Women Search for Justice,” a blog examining numerous forms of violence against women in Canada and around the world, including sexual violence in conflict zones, sex trafficking, and domestic violence. In addition to traveling and writing, Cheryl is also extremely passionate about using her research and writing abilities to expose all forms of injustice, violence, and exploitation against women all over the world and working to create a better world for women and children. Currently, Cheryl is compiling her experiences in the form of two e-books titled “Never Give Up: What Depression has Taught Me,” and “Taking a Leap of Faith: What Following My Passions to the Ends of the Earth has Taught Me.” These e-books will be available to the public by Summer 2012.
