Stephen Ganns

Stephen Ganns is an economist and consultant who specializes in economic research, real estate portfolio advisory and investment performance monitoring. He has authored best practice methodology for real estate portfolio investment monitoring for pension funds and has client relationships with several of the largest state pension funds in the United States.

He is a veteran of the commercial real estate industry. He has managed and led complex bankruptcy consulting solutions

Mr. Ganns has published articles in Pensions & Investments: Using Modern Portfolio Theory for Real Estate, September 2009, and A New Framework for Monitoring Real Estate Investments, October 2009. He has published a Commentary on Bank for International Settlements Working Papers entitled "The Financial Turmoil of 2007 ‐? A Preliminary Assessment & Some Policy Considerations and Central Bank Operations in Response to the Financial Turmoil", August 2008. His most current articles are: Asset Review Monitoring System Helps Real Estate Firms Meet Fiduciary Obligations Real Estate.

He has a relationship with the Group of Thirty and attended both of their annual International Banking Seminars during the IMF and World Bank meetings: Istanbul, Turkey (2009) and Washington, DC (2010). He has provided advisory services to U.S. Banking Committee and has conducted panels for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve concerning commercial real estate and capital markets.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, is a member of the National Association for Business Economics, the NABE Real Estate Roundtable, the Washington State Investment Board Research Advisory Council, the Global Interdependence Center, a Jones Partner at the Jesse H. Jones School of Graduate Management at Rice University and is certified in mediation by the Blakely Advocacy Institute Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston Law Center.
