Kent Lister
Spending more than a decade working at various newspapers, radio and TV stations Kent Lister offers a unique perspective on the news world. Lister s career began at a small weekly newspaper in Eastern Iowa while he was still in high school. A 4-year private college was the next step on his journey, a time that included several jobs and internships at TV and radio stations throughout the Midwest and Rocky Mountain states. From there a full time job was waiting for Lister at a local TV station on the border of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
Since that time Lister been able to attend campaign events and often interview each major presidential candidate since the 2004 general elections. Lister’s spent time with everyone from Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush to Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann, as well as Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Rudy Giuliani, Tom Tancredo, and Fred Thompson.
In addition to covering politics Lister’s also been able to cover a broad expanse of stories. Things ranging from the arrest and trial of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, to the murderous rampage and subsequent manhunt for Nick Sheeley a convicted felon accused of 8 murders in Illinois and Missouri, as well as record flooding along the Mississippi River.
When he’s not working Lister enjoys spending time outdoors, especially with family, friends and his Black Labrador.
