Max Siegel
From an early age, Max Siegel has always been fascinated with movies. He loved unusual films like “2001: A Space Odyssey”; following in his father’s footsteps, he began taking photographs when he was 11 years old. Raised in San Diego, he emigrated from southern California to UC Berkeley, where he received a BA in Film.
As a freshman in early 2008, he created a film-review blog. The project began as a hobby, but it quickly blossomed into a deeper passion for writing and sharing his thoughts on films. That desire to have conversations about movies culminated in a two-year career as a film critic at Berkeley’s newspaper, The Daily Californian.
After a four-year hiatus, Max returned to southern California, where he is currently pursuing an MFA in Cinematography at Chapman University.
