A former reporter for Sports Illustrated, Lawrence Corbett spent 10 years covering sports before launching her freelance career in 1994. Her articles have appeared in Black Enterprise, Capitol File, the Los Angeles Times, Power Play, Sports Illustrated, the Huffington Post, Essence, American Visions, and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette magazines.
She wrote the foreword for Arthur R. Ashe, Jr. s A Hard Road to Glory: Track and Field. She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the National Association of Black Journalists.
