Heather Ducote
I am a stay-at-home-mom of two beautiful girls. Before I was a mother, I worked at a library shelving and repairing books for nearly a decade. While I was never a librarian, being around all of those books inspired me to learn many things. Because of my work there, I tried out many new things, mostly because I would pick up an interesting book or two nearly every day and learn something from it. So now I can crochet, knit, cook, bake, sew, and I am an avid photographer, besides being an oil painting artist. While I would never claim to be an expert in any of these fields, I feel great knowing I have so many talents to fall back on when I am bored (Not that I have time for being bored with two children!).
I have always wanted to be a writer. I love reading, and I think that may be what made me want to write. I read anything: historical, fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, manuals, anything! My favorite is a good mystery, and anything by my favorite authors has been read several times through. I have always wanted to write a great novel, but of course have never had the time or talent for it. So I stick with other types of writing to keep me busy.
My daughters are my world. I don t know what I did without them. They make my life harder, but my life would be empty without their smiling little faces and even the messes they make every day. I love them to pieces.
