Johanna Arroyo
Johanna is a Florida girl, single mom, full time student and author. She loves the sunny side of life and enjoys the local theme parks and beaches but also enjoys discovering shores outside of her home town. She spent this past summer in Belize where she obtained a certificate of achievement for the successful completion of the Programme for Belize’s Tropical Forest and Marine Ecology Course. She was also placed on the Dean’s list this year for excellence in academic achievement—setting an example for her eleven year old son Jonathan.
She took control of her life when she decided to make life changes to better her health; she lost 110lbs with the help of her trainer and started using the world as her playground. She completed her first 5k in April of this year to support Epilepsy and is still actively working towards her goals in weight loss--she wants to shave off another thirty pounds.
When she is not working on her fitness, taking care of her son or working on school; she can be found writing. She takes a journal with her everywhere she goes, just in case creativity ensues.
She enjoys creative writing of any sort. Johanna writes poems, posts regularly on her personal blog and is currently working on her first novel—that is one in a series of three. She looks forward to making great contributions to the literary world as well as simple quirky snippets of her life and experiences.
In her former life she worked in The Child and Maternal Health Field under umbrella programs of non-profit organizations. She is passionate about helping others and has worked hand-in-hand with adults with developmental disabilities, infants and pregnant women—serving as a childbirth educator, lactation consultant and life coach.
Johanna’s diverse background is a great foundation for her eclectic array of ideas and view on life.
