Melody W. Doc of District 13
When I was a child I worked side by side with my dad renovating old homes he had purchased. When I entered high school I immediately opted for drafting, metals class and woodworking class. After graduating high school in 1991 with top honors, I entered Hesser College in Manchester NH for a degree in Real Estate Administration. However, the recession was on so my major was ultimately canceled due to lack of interest by other students. I instead graduated, president's list and Phi Theta Kappa, with an Associate's Degree In Business Administration in 1993. While attending college, during the summers, I worked for my grandmother at her apartment complex, Princeton Rooms And Apartments, in Seaside Heights NJ, as her property maintenance person. Undaunted by the lack of the degree I really wanted, I went on to the Charlene Mason Real Estate Seminars and the Realty World Seminars, eventually getting my real estate license and becoming a Realtor. In 2005 I graduated, dean's list, with a Residential Design Degree at The Art Institute Of Pittsburgh PA. Later I joined Associated Content where I began writing home improvement how to articles under my beloved grandfather's pen name and later became their Featured Home Improvement Contributor. At the beginning of 2009 I went full throttle into my home improvement dreams of opening a home restoration business catering to the middle to low income classes. That is when Mel's Affordable Home Restoration, LLC was born.
