Patricia Traina
I have 15+ years of experience in conceiving and preparing thought-provoking, data-rich coverage of professional football, specifically the New York Giants. I’ve written a wide array of article genres, including athlete profiles, analysis, practice reports, game stories, statistical research, historical, and enterprise, with the goals of introducing my readers to new information or a new perspective on an old topic. I take great pride in being a professional and in building strategic coalitions with industry insiders whose knowledge and input are invaluable when it comes to finding stories and presenting them accurately.
I’m well-versed in the use of social media platforms such as Twitter (@Patricia_Traina) where I have more than 5,700 followers, including fans, colleagues, athletes, athlete family members, publicists, agents, and sponsors. I enjoy interacting with my followers, and hold random Q&As in order to help them better understand what’s happening.
In addition to being an YCN participant, I cover the NY Giants for InsideFootball.com and for The Sports Xchange. I have a strong understanding of the NFL salary cap and, thanks to my work at Inside Football, I’m pretty good at evaluating what I see on the field.
My career highlights include covering four Super Bowls, and more than a dozen Giants drafts and training camps. I’ve missed just one regular season Giants home games in my career, and have contributed articles to other publications such as Lindy’s Pro Football Annual, New York Sportscene, and the Maple Street Press giants annual (2010).
If I had to summarize what I think has enabled me to have staying power in a competitive field (besides my passion for writing) it’s that I have a genuine interest in learning more about people and their role in the billion-dollar industry that is the National Football League.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, or reading a good book.
