Chris Murray

Chris Murray is an award-winning journalist with over 25 years as a print and broadcast journalist.
Murray is currently a freelance writer with the Philadelphia Sunday Sun and he has his own blog, the Chris Murray Report. Murray currently covers the local sports scene in Philadelphia including the Philadelphia Eagles since 2004. He is a regular contributor as a guest commentator on WIP-FM Sports Talk Radio.
From 2004-2009, Murray was a sportswriter/columnist with the Philadelphia Tribune. He covered the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and the local college sports scene. In 2009, Murray was a recipient of the Sam Lacy Award as the Negro League Baseball Museum s Baseball Writer of the Year for 2008. Later that year, Murray was nominated for a National Association of Black Journalists Salute to Excellence Award for an article commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the 1968 men s U.S. Track and Field Team. From 1998-2001, Murray was the Sports Editor for the Prince Georges Gazette Newspaper (Post-Newsweek). From 1994-1998, Murray work with the Journal Newspapers of Maryland and Virginia. He covered high school and college sports. In 1995, He was won an Excellence in Sports Writing Award from the Maryland Society of Professional Journalists. Murray has been a freelance writer with the Washington Post.com.
