I retired in 2008 from the Army Reserve after two year-long deployments to Iraq, and while I also had an exciting career as a flight nurse for a rural air-ambulance service in Missouri, my wife, daughters, and I decided we would try something new - living abroad. My wife retired from teaching elementary school, and I now work in Lima, Peru. I am currently working on a book based on my experiences as a trauma and flight nurse in western Iraq.
