I was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas and then moved to South Carolina at age 3 when my mother remarried. I lived there until I was 20 and then moved to Hilo, Hawaii to attend the university. I still reside in Hilo and it is a constant source of inspiration.

Challenging Social Stigmas Held Between Generational GapsIn this poem I was trying to allude to the silent stigmas older generation hold regarding young adults and/or teenagers. I was trying to show that just because we value different things in life doesn't mean we are indifferent.

Social Dramas Existing Currently in SocietyI wrote this poem to illustrate my frustration with the travesties of society. To show how the process of socialization could be our downfall if we as people are not aware of the message we are sending to the next generation, the future of our country.
