Luis R. Miranda
Award-winning Journalist, Luis Miranda was born on October 13 in San Jose, Costa Rica. An investigative Journalist at heart, he began his work in 1996 with his first internship at Channel 14 in Costa Rica.
While in Costa Rica, he co-produced a news broadcast and acted as a reporter and news anchor, reporting on topics such as national and local elections, landmines, health care and agriculture.
His career evolved into Radio and Television Broadcasting in the United States, where he studied and worked for 10 years. He started off by interning at CNN Español in New York City.
Later, Luis worked as a freelance writer for Industry Today and Food and Drink Quarterly Magazines,
He was then hired as a Production Assistant at Digital Cafe Tour also in New York City, and as a Production Manager at Talkpoint Communications.
He continued his work in that capacity performing various positions in studio and on location. Among his productions are documentary segments for Carpe Diem, a television magazine broadcast to 400,000 people in New Jersey. His reports included topics like Global Warming, Climate Change, the Cool Cities Program, the Renovation of Penn Station and an interview program on foreign student immigration to the United States.
After finishing his studies in the United States, Luis moved to Brazil where he now manages The Real Agenda, a web-based publication found at http://www.real-agenda.com.
Throughout the past 14 years Luis has interviewed people from all strata of life. From Presidents and political candidates, to scientists, doctors, academics, students and protesters.
Luis' international experience allowed him to learn English, Portuguese and Italian which he speaks in addition to his native Spanish.
