I'm a former newspaper editor and reporter who has been doing the freelance/stay-at-home mom thing for about 10 years. In between deadlines, laundry, child-wrangling and making sure my pantry is full, I like to spend time getting my bad self on in hip hop class with fellow 40-somethings, running Girl Scout meetings, subbing at elementary schools, volunteering at my local animal shelter, and keeping up with my radio DJ husband's crazy schedule. My work has been published in national business trade magazines, and found on wire services, in daily newspapers, in university alumni magazines, on the web, in newsletters, and more. My career highlights have included interviewing Bob Hope, laughing through a phone conversation with Richard Simmons, chatting with Melissa Etheridge, and enduring a press conference in a hot air balloon. As a mom, my writing interests are now focused on the daily dramas and joys of raising a tween girl and pre-tween boy.
