Shannon Smith
It was not until after I had graduated high school and went on to college that I discovered a world that was unfamiliar to me, writing. As I had continued through college writing small bits and pieces here and there, I found that as a hobby it was quite enjoyable. Once I had graduated and went on to bigger and better things as we all must after such an excursion I obtained a job as a writer for my local news paper the Ottumwa Courier, covering a vast majority of the small towns that surround my hometown of Ottumwa. Just over a year had passed when I reluctantly submitted my dismissal because I was moving to a different location. Although I can say, I sorrowfully miss my job as a big writer in a small town I can earnestly say that it was a learning experience that taught me many things. Now, after taking the time to raise a family I am throwing my career sail in the wind and heading forward whilst seeking new and exciting writing adventures.
