I am a writer and I also revolve in the world of artists and artisans as a painter. My favorite thing to do is to use my huge brushes, palette knives, canvases, pencils and computer to create new spaces to explore whether I am writing or painting. I have found that my favorite forms of writing are poetry, essays and short stories which make me perfect for Associated Content! :) In February of 2009, after I resigned from my position as an assistant principal at a high school in Rockingham County, Virginia,I began putting my raw skills together from art and writing courses which I had in college and privately. My health was fading again after winning my battle with stage three breast cancer in 2002. I had a record of seven years without a recurrence and there was no way I wanted that to break! So, after some serious introspection and many canvases and pages of practice, here I am in the Associated Content community writing poetry and essays and in the Etsy community selling paintings. I love my new jobs and feel that I am growing personally again!
