Christine Powell
Greetings!
If there's one thing that I've realized in the past year, it's that we can (at any moment) choose to sacrifice what we ARE for what we could BECOME.
I started my professional career like most do - after receiving a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in central Calif., I set out along a pretty typical job path.
After working for a while, my boss and mentor encouraged me to go after a job that showcased my true talents/gifts in writing and communication. I ended up landing my "dream" job at a well-respected, established high-tech public relations agency in Silicon Valley.
I was hired, and felt extraordinarily lucky that I was chosen to be a part of an excellent staff. Years went by, and as I moved up at the agency, my free time dwindled and dwindled until one day I realized that I spent a majority of my week either at work or answering e-mails or phone calls and less and less time with my family or friends.
In December of 2008, I was laid off. Although it was a curve ball at the time, it turned out to be a major blessing in my life. I ended up finding my true potential, realizing that there was another way to live a life much more fulfilling and rewarding with time and financial freedom.
Making a six- or multiple-six-figure income does not require you to work for someone else. In fact (in my opinion) it's much easier (especially politically) to work for yourself and make this amount of money.
I encourage you to choose work that is more than a job - make it your calling. Engross yourself in tasks that call upon your strengths.
If you're ready to take ownership of your life and your financial future - you've come in contact with the right person.
Cheers to your success!!
